GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
Thank you for considering The Central Asian Journal of Social Science and History for your manuscript submission. To ensure that your work is considered for publication, please carefully read the following guidelines. Adhering to these instructions will help streamline the review process and ensure your manuscript meets our standards.
Manuscript Submission
- Manuscripts must be submitted through our online submission system
- Submissions must be original and not have been published or submitted elsewhere for consideration.
- Manuscripts should be written in English and formatted according to the IEE style.
- Articles should align with the journal's focus and scope. Manuscripts should address contemporary social, political, media, and communication issues with global implications, as outlined in the journal’s focus areas. While articles often have global implications, some may focus on specific and unique implications for a particular community or region, which are equally valuable to the scholarly discourse.
Article Types
The journal accepts the following types of submissions:
- Original Research Articles: These should present novel findings from empirical or theoretical research. The manuscript length should be between 5000 and 8000 words (including references, tables, and figures).
- Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews of existing literature or conceptual papers that critically analyze and synthesize research in a particular area. The manuscript length should be between 3000 and 5000 words.
- Short Communications: Brief reports on emerging trends or preliminary findings of ongoing research. The manuscript length should be between 2000 and 4000 words.
- Case Studies: In-depth analysis of specific social, political, or historical issues with practical implications. The manuscript length should be between 2000 and 4000 words.
Formatting Requirements (see also the Journal Template)
- Manuscripts should be typed in 11-point Arial font, with 1.15 line spacing and 2,5-cm margins on all sides (Normal Setting in MS Word).
- The manuscript should be structured as follows:
- Title: A concise and descriptive title that clearly reflects the topic.
- Abstract: A 150-250 word abstract summarizing the key findings or arguments.
- Keywords: 4-6 keywords that help identify the focus of the paper.
- Main Body: This should include the following sections:
- Introduction: Present the background and research problem.
- Literature Review: Review of existing literature and relevant theories.
- Methodology: Describe the research design, data collection, and analysis methods.
- Results: Present the findings of your research or analysis.
- Discussion: Interpret the results, comparing them with existing studies or theoretical frameworks.
- Conclusion: Summarize the main findings and suggest implications for theory, practice, or future research.
- References: All citations should be formatted according to IEE style. References should be cited within the text using parenthetical citations and listed alphabetically at the end.
Figures and Tables
- Figures and tables should be clear and of high quality. Each figure or table must be numbered and accompanied by a caption.
- Figures and tables should be placed within the text, at the point where they are first referenced.
- The maximum number of figures and tables per article is 5. If you wish to include additional materials, please discuss it with the editorial team before submission.
References and Citations
- All references must be cited in the IEE format.
- In-text citations should follow the format: (Author, Year) or (Author, Year, p. X) for direct quotes.
- Only cited sources should be included in the reference list. Ensure that the reference list is alphabetically ordered and properly formatted.
Ethical Considerations
- Authors must ensure that the research is conducted ethically and in accordance with applicable ethical guidelines and regulations.
- Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest related to the research.
- All research involving human participants must comply with ethical standards, and authors should provide evidence of approval from relevant ethical committees.
Plagiarism
- All manuscripts are checked using Turnitin. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 15%. Any manuscript exceeding this threshold will be immediately rejected without further review.
- Authors must properly cite all sources and ensure their work is original. Self-plagiarism (reusing one’s own previously published work without proper attribution) is also strictly prohibited
Peer Review Process
- All submitted manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process. Both the identity of the author(s) and the reviewer(s) will be kept anonymous.
- Authors will receive feedback from the reviewers and may be required to make revisions before final acceptance.
- After peer review, authors will be notified of the decision (accepted, revised, or rejected).
Acceptance and Publication
- Upon acceptance, the manuscript will be edited for clarity, grammar, and formatting, but authors are responsible for ensuring that the content is accurate and well-written.
- Authors will receive a proof of their manuscript before it is published and will need to approve the final version.
- Published articles will be available online and included in the journal's print edition if applicable.
Copyright and Licensing
- Upon submission, authors agree to transfer the copyright of the manuscript to the journal upon acceptance.
- The journal operates under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License CC BY SA. Authors retain the right to use their work for personal purposes, but must provide appropriate credit when the work is reused.
