Abstract

This study aimed to explore the extent to which social, economic, and technological changes contribute to the increasing risks of cybercrime in Iraq. To achieve its objectives, it adopted a descriptive-analytical approach using an online survey method. A validated and reliable questionnaire was employed to collect data from a sample of 650 students selected from public and private universities in Iraq at various academic levels. The study utilized descriptive statistical analysis methods, employing SPSS software for data analysis. The results indicated that the overall impact of social, economic, and technological changes on the growing risks of cybercrime in Iraqi society was high, with an overall mean score of (4.017). The findings further revealed that technological changes ranked first in terms of their relative importance in contributing to the increase in cybercrime risks, with a mean score of (4.118), followed by economic changes with a mean score of (4.053), also at a high level. Social changes ranked last, with a mean score of (3.879), yet still at a high level.
